Multidomain

Link multiple domains to get information from multiple sources

Description

The Multidomain add-on is a very useful tool that allows you to use the same tagging server with multiple domains.

In this way, if you have different related websites, you can implement cross-domain tracking with ease and have a tracking set-up covering many domains on the same server.

On the tagging server, you can choose to keep the tracking of each domain isolated, or to share the tracking between the different domains.

Implementation

To make use of the multidomain add-on, go to your container on sprtags.io > Add-ons > Multidomain. Add your domain and subdomain and click on save:

You can use 2 types of domains:
1. internal domain on sprtags.io
Like mysubdomain.sprtags.io and then we create the dns automatically in our dns settings

2. external domain
For example srs.sprsaas.com

Go to your domain hosting and create a DNS record , for example if you have a container running in Paris region then it will need to point to: eu-west-3.sprtags.io

The record must be of type CNAME and DNS-ONLY

So now in my case I have 3 domains targeting my tagging server:

0byqylci7h.sprsaas.com, srs.sprsaas.com and mysubdomain.sprtags.io

At this point the set-up is ready. You now only need to add the new tagging url to the container settings of the tagging server and then the new domain can be used with the debug mode:

To add the url you go to the Admin panel of the tagging server container:

Then go to the container settings add our new URL, click on save and done:

when entering the preview mode of your tagging server and you have multiple domains, then you have to keep in mind, that you first need to select the domain you want to preview:

To select the domain you have to click in the three lines icon at the right of the preview button:

Click the on the domain that you want to preview:

Finally, if all the steps were completed successfully, after clicking the preview button, the preview mode should open and the requests should arrive without trouble:
